10th and Final Ride Like Crazy community ride yesterday ..
A little bit sad, but at the same time it's good that they let it go on a high note having achieved what they set out to do, namely raise funds for cancer research.
In the lead up to the ride, Miss V rolled her ankle so in the week leading up to RLC we'd been closely monitoring it to make sure that she could ride. Physio gave her the all clear, and "strapped the shit out of it" (his words). That said, there were a couple of bail-out plans in place should things go pear shaped.
Weather was near perfect.. a little cool early on, but turning sunny later in the ride.
I took the corkscrew option, while Miss V didn't. I passed a bunch of people going up Corkscrew, some looked to be in a world of pain. Thinking they didn't research the climb prior to heading up there! The Garmin live track feature on the Garmin 820 worked really well in this instance since i could see where she was to help us meet up on the road afterwards
Finished the distance with a bit of relief, but definitely some smiles. BBQ and a Ham Roll finished the day
Still rates as one of the best organised community rides in my book. https://www.strava.com/activities/1355871353
