these guys are having a sale..
http://babici.cc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

whole bunch of things 1/2 price, including full kits (matching jersey, bib knick, arm warmers and musette)

Miss V recently grabbed some bib knicks from them and they seemed like reasonable quality :)

update: placed an order with them for a full kit at about 8:30 pm, got an email at 9:30 pm apologising for not having the jersey in stock and suggesting a few options. Very good customer service.. and has now been sent via express post :)

Wow.. that's a decent buy

The Oppy range is pretty good value and not bad on performance. A mate has a carbon Oppy and he's pretty happy with it.
Shimano 105 and Mavic Aksium is excellent value at that price.

Not sure if it the same people, but i bought my first road bike from the bike shop in TTP :)

haha I have never ridden a road bike before so I won't know how it compares. Should be a fair bit easier on the hills though!

That looks great.

Take those Conti Ultra race tyres off. I had 6 punctures in 800kms. Another 800kms later on Conti Gator skins and not a flat. (yet!)

I was looking at garmin stuff and found an Australian site that seems to be a fair bit cheaper than most. They don't list the 200 though, which is what I was look for.

not sure that the garmin 200 is out yet is it? I know it's been announced but can't recall seeing any list on sites. Best place i've found for garmin cycling computers is handtec.co.uk

I pulled the pin on a Garmin Edge 800 today. w00dsy will be getting my old Edge 500, so no more flat phones for him.

I can't discuss price, but I am very very happy. Got it of Rob at http://www.highlytunedathletes.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

No, the 200 isn't out yet but the site Norbs posted has it listed for release late Sept. I'd really like the mapping though. Always manage to take a few wrong turns when I go somewhere different. $325 for the 705 is tempting.

The price on the site I posted works out pretty close to handtec. 270GBP=$410AUD atm.

I am not sure if this will help or not, but here goes.

The Garmin Edge 500 doesn't have mapping, and I have never missed it. The few times I have been lost, once in the up near Wollongong and last weekend when I wasn't sure how far from my destination I was, I have just whipped out the smart phone. It may not be good for long rides, but it is excellent when I have been in a pickle. I think I even used the N95 when I got lost in the Barrossa Valley. It is dependent on network coverage though. Well the smart phone. The N95 had Garmin maps on it.

There is a site with the 705's for $269, I can't remember exactly where though but the guy from work who found it will. I'll ask him tomorrow and post accordingly.

I've gotta get myself one shortly, I suffer the same problem as Woodsy

Garmin 500 does have *some* mapping ability, in that you can plot a course and the garmin will tell you how to follow it.... it's not the fancy turn by turn navigation that you see on the 705 and 800 , but it'd easily be enough to get you back on course.

I think I'll get some as I don't have the clip in pedals yet
