2014 European Season

Post by pixelboy »

Well with the Paris-Roubaix on tonight I thought we needed a thread to chat through the season as we head through the one day classics, Italy, France and Spain.

Seems that Fabian Cancellara is the clear favourite tonight.. but PR often throws up an upset. SBS starts online coverage @ 9.00pm and on the idiot box @ 9.30pm!!

Im going with the favourite.. who's your pick?

Lets just hope there are less blokes on the deck than last weeks Ronde. Jesus, that was chaos.

I would love a roughy like Hayman to win it. I think Wiggins will do better than a lot of people expect. Maybe Sep Vanmarcke after a storming ride last week. You can't rule out Boonen, even though his team mate Terpstra has looked stronger this year.

it is fucking hard to pick 1 winner out of 248 starters!

Agreed Roubaix was great, Liege-Bastogne-Liege was kinda boring last night but a fantastic result!

End of the classics bring on Giro!

Considering the racing up til L-B-L. I am not complaining. You have to feel for Dan Martin. Was an odd place to fall off.

I am trying not to get too excited, but he is looking strong. Purito is out, Quintana will probably grab time in the high mountains, but Evans will get time back in the ITT.

I am expecting big digs from Arredondo or Pozzovivo because they have nothing to lose.

i expect you know about inrng.com already Pix, but if you dont, have a look.

That will be talked about for a long time to come.

Seems like most of the peloton thought the descent of the Stelvio was neutralised.

Typical Italian shit fight.

I think it is more like "Froome not picking Wiggins". :)

I am not a fan of Wiggins, but it would have been great to see him in the tour this year.

Dave Brailsford is a soft cock.
He doesn't want to have to deal with 2 GC contenders in the Grand Boucle.
In doing so he's ripping off us fans.
At the end if the day the best man over the 3 weeks will still win so he's just reduced Team Sky's chances by 50%. I hope it backfires on him but then I don't wish any bad karma for Froome.

So who's going to win the Dauphiné? Froome? Contadoor? Nibili? TeJay? Porte?

I think it's going to be hard to beat Froome!

The run into the TDF starts tonight!

Anyone watch the stage yesterday? Corker.

Beefeater looked like he was going to win it back on the penultimate climb but slowed on the final one with Talansky able to find some time. Great to see a final climb decider, and although I don't like to see him win - Contador on the attack is still a sight.

Yesterday was one of the best stages of racing I have ever seen. And a lot of it was via the tracker because the coverage started late. (Dont start me on that, watching the le Mans podium when Europsort had multiple channels showing it, jesus) Thank god for streams.

When Froome attacked early and couldn't shake Bertie, they then sat up and let him lose the race.

It was the most bizarre day of racing, as well as one of the best.

TdF rosters finalised.

No Goss for OGE. No Wiggo or Millar for the poms to cheer on.
