Tyabb 2016

Post by DexterPunk »

Just a couple of shots I took today at the Tyabb Air Show. Really fun day. Check it out in 2018 if you're in Melb.

They did look a touch dark on my screens at work. All about a third of a stop darker than what I saw it home.

That's a nice looking Corsair. And was that a Sopwith One-and-a-half Strutter? Lovely.

It's a Sopwith Pup I believe.

There was a P40F Kittyhawk that's the only flying example in the world as well. Great to see them in action.

I'm pretty sure it's not a Pup. The Pup had a single Vickers gun and that cowling around the engine doesn't look Pup like. I reckon it is a Strutter - CORRECTION - Snipe.

* All knowledge on this garnered from playing lots of Rise of Flight :D

I had the timing of the Strutter confused. It was an older model. The Snipe was right near the end of the war.

EDIT AGAIN . I'm looking at the wrong plane! :melt:

Haha. If it's the plane on it's own 3rd from the bottom you're talking about, it's a Pup. The other plane with both together is a Snipe.

Yeah, when I saw the two planes together I was drawn to the Snipe and completely disregarded its friend as not particularly interesting. From that point on I naturally assumed that everyone was talking about what I was interested in. by the way, nice pics.

Huh, thought I seen some extra planes flying about over the water.

Yep, and a number of them where flying over the island before and after the event.
