What is wrong with people. :(

Anyone with half a clue knows the classic cars are a million times more fun to drive than a modern F1 car.

Attention Rift Users - You may find that at the end of a multiplayer race, Assetto Corsa helpfully teleports you back to the pits, inside someone else's car. The usual answer to this is to press Ctrl-Numpad2 and you'll automatically be relocated to your own car. THIS IS BAD. CTRL-Numpad 1-4 all control the Asynchronous Time and Space Warp functions in the Rift driver. In the case of CTRL-Numpad 2, it disables ASW and tells the app to display at 45Hz, resulting in nasty juddery effects.

There seems to be no way to change the ASW keybindings, so AC is the only place for it.

Add the following to the bottom of your Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\controls.ini file (in your windows user home directory)

Code: Select all

[NEXT_CAR]
JOY=-1
BUTTON=-1
XBOXBUTTON=-1
;KEY=0x63; num 3
KEY=0x69; num 9

[PREVIOUS_CAR]
JOY=-1
BUTTON=-1
XBOXBUTTON=-1
;KEY=0x61; num 1
KEY=0x67; num 7

[PLAYER_CAR]
JOY=-1
BUTTON=-1
XBOXBUTTON=-1
;KEY=0x62; num2
KEY=0x68; num8
Henceforth you can use Ctrl-Numpad 8 to jump back to your own car. CTRL-Numpad 7 and 9 for next and previous car.

Note that the settings may be lost if you edit your controls in the game afterwards.

I had found this somewhere on the internets a few months ago, then when it no longer worked, I couldn't find it again. Thanks Windows keeping old versions of files, I was able to find the overwritten version with the above settings. I thought it might be useful to preserve it here.

I said to Bails late last Friday night that this pack must be close as today, 13th September 1939, the company came to be but it's 70 years since the first road car and that's when they get recognised.

I plan to sit in the pitlane @ Monza 66 revving the guts out of it like I did the first time I played GPL :vibes:

- MODDING REQUEST: Added blanket temperature to tyres.ini under [ADDITIONAL1] BLANKETS_TEMP
- MODDING REQUEST: Added pressure vs temperature gain in tyres.ini. under [ADDITIONAL1] PRESSURE_TEMPERATURE_GAIN
- MODDING REQUEST: Added camber spread tweak value in tyres.ini under [ADDITIONAL1] CAMBER_TEMP_SPREAD_K (AC default is 1.4, higher numbers=more spread)
- MODDING REQUEST: Added new LUT based system to handle camber D variations. Example, (for every compound):
DCAMBER_LUT=(|-145=0.8|-15=0.9|-3=1.01|0=1|3=1.005|15=0.9|145=0.8|)
DCAMBER_LUT_SMOOTH=1
This will override DCAMBER_0/1 behavior (values still need to be there tho)

- MODDING REQUEST: Added variable throttle response as function of RPM. Add:
[THROTTLE_RESPONSE]
RPM_REFERENCE=6000
LUT=throttle_max.lut

to engine.ini. throttle.lut will be used for 0 RPM and whatever LUT you specify will be used at RPM_REFERENCE
- MODDING REQUEST: Added progressive bump stop rate. In suspensions.ini under [FRONT] and [REAR] add BUMP_STOP_PROGRESSIVE . Look for "Using progressive bump rate..." in the log for confirmation

Confirmed: Ford Transit is delayed by 2 years while all those changes are implemented.

I can't the the ini checksum being an issue unless I make a track that doesn't work online again

Probably just my ignorance, but did not expect this.

Still time in both cars, but the 2017 is a tricky fucker.

A very interesting comment about classic cars as content from Stefano.
Also check out the AC motion rigs in the background.

I am convinced it is the older guys that like the older cars.

Every time a young bloke has a try in my sim rig, they want a current F1 car or La ferrari or similar. Those bullet like things that I cant drive LOL

:melt: just fucking :melt:

That 312/67 was like finding a long lost old friend again. I sat in the pits of Monza 66 just revving it and going through the camera views. What a noise! Then driving it was even better. It's not as sharp or fast as the Lotus 49 but it's got soul. I really enjoyed this car so much in GPL and now it's my favourite in Assetto Corsa.

I did drive the other cars and like Norbs, I drove both the 2004 and 2017 F1 cars. Norbs the 2004 has traction control and cracking close to 1000 ponies. The 2017 is a faster car but without TC it's nuts in the lower gears. I drove both at Monza and I do like the 2017 but it was tough and a hand full.

Love the 330 P4 too. A honey of a car :)

What a car. As the good Dr said, it's not as sharp at the Lotus but fuck me it's good.

1st crack at the Nordschleife challenge and I managed a 7:12,8. Now to complete a few more laps, I was shitting myself most of the time.
