ARSEwash #2 Formula Arbath Rank.

Post by norbs »

Get in there boys. This is great fun. 5 tracks in the Formula Arbath.

http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveT ... k&rankId=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just grabbed my 5 laps.

Has to be done at 26C temp and PRO assists. See the info after every track for details.

I reckon with some work I can get top 10, so you good guys will give it a shake.

Just did a sighting lap at each circuit to make sure I had the right settings and I'm 15th - just behind Norbs

Now to improve on those times :) (subject to kid being asleep)

I just did a few laps at each (pro tip; don't forget to set the ambient temp before starting!)
Resulted in 8th, need more work...but!
I can't believe that I'm a good 6s off the wr pretty much everywhere. I'm on the default setup, though. Well, nearly. I've reduced the rear wing to 5, and lowered the gears 4-5-6 by one click.
I'm wondering if there's something you really need change on the setup do to be able to get closer to the top guys..

Edit: worked myself up to 7th, but I don't think I can do much more without proper setups. Gone down to 4 on the rear wing now. (maybe it's the wrong direction? LOL)

I read that atm medium slicks are better than soft so maybe that's worth a go

I am loving this little Arbath thing. Seems like there is always a little more to be squeezed out.

I took 3 seconds off this morning, then another 2.6 after talking to Jason. Still slow though. :)

Go boys...

Been having fun, but I'm hanging out for MP. There's only so much hot lapping I can do before I get bored.

I've been struggling heel-toeing as I haven't done it for a long time and the auto clutch sucks in AC. You can shift without using the clutch and blipping on the way down without the clutch, but there's a miss rate. Need to get me some sim socks ;)

Go the other way with the wings. 16/16 seems pretty good. You gain a lot of grip but it only loses you a couple kph top end which is more than made up for in the corners. I need to try a little less at Mugello though.

I'm 5 seconds off at a couple tracks as well. Just not enough laps to know where the limit is, and I'm not familiar with most of the tracks.

I tried less at mugello and it was worse. 17 seems to get a lot more drag an not much difference in downforce so 16 seems to be the optimal.

I've posted a setup in the setup thread.

thanks for the tip Darren, i was running the default setup and couldn't do better than a 1.46.0 at Imola but pretty much as soon as i went to 16 with the wings i was in the 46's and then got a 45.5.

Darren you're a legend! That setup helped me to shave off a great deal of time everywhere (overall about 12s better now!).
Clawed myself back to 7th on the rank.
Pos 30-40 on each track, and only ~1.5s/track-minute off the top pace (that's about my pace, I'm happy with that).

I found the soft compound is faster at Imola, so it may only be Mugello where medium is faster for me. I need to do silverstone properly next.

Went back and ran that setup at the other tracks and shaved off a couple seconds. Only Mugello was fastest with medium compound.

Mines up. That car is fun! I reckon I've got another .5-1.0 at most tracks.

I havent been able to get this to work. I've loaded the app but it says I havent set a time yet. So I chuck some laps, and it still says the same thing.

Also a problem logging into the live timing site. I login via steam but it says my login is incorrect. But it has let me in a couple of times so I'm not sure what the go is.

Anyone else had similar problems?

Are you doing the laps in hotlap mode? It won't accept laps in other session types. Haven't had any problems with the login, but you only need it if you have to delete a lap.

I can't get my Mugello or Vallelunga times down. Need more laps I guess :)

I finally broke into the 43's at Imola with a 43.6 but it wasn't legal unfortunately. It wasn't a wasted session though, I knocked .5 off my best to get down to a 1.44.1. Might go back tonight and see if I can do it again. I keep thinking I should try some of the other tracks but I'm having too much fun at Imola trying to go quicker. I keep finding a few more tenths here and there so I don't feel like I've reached my potential yet.

Got a bit quicker at Imola but I would like to get into the 42's before I move on.

Can't get a handle on Magione or Vallelunga for some reason. Will watch some replays and see if I can figure out where I'm going wrong.

The in game penalty really pisses me off, especially when you are clearly not making up any time or spinning off the track. Tried to turn it off but it didn't work for me.

It is annoying, yes, and I could not turn it off either.
But then I was thinking in a few places you could get a damn good run on the sf straight, if it wasn't there - which is a bit of a cheating, if you think about it. So it's not bad after all.
