Shoes? Socks?
What do you sim race with? I usually feel like wearing shoes doesn't give me enough feeling and feedback of what i'm doing with the pedals when racing. On the other hand, socks are slippery. I've just grabbed some Fanatec CSP's and they seem a bit stiffer than the A1 pedals I was using. I'm thinking socks are probably not the best option. In fact, i'm wondering if it's worth while buying some racing shoes... or perhaps that's overkill.

Re: Shoes? Socks?
I've always raced barefoot. Socks occasionally in winter but as you say, it's slippery. Barefoot can get slippery in summer if I forget to turn the fan on
I tie socks as sweat bands around my ankles on very hot days.

Always raced with socks. Barefoot tends to give me blisters when I used to heel toe.

Socks or bare foot. Depends how cold it is.

I use an old pair of moccies that have the rubber sole removed.
Keeps my feet at the right temp all year round & provides good feedback & protection especially with a load cell brake.
If you're looking for something sim specific look up fast track sim, they offer sim race shows for around $55USD

Thanks for that. It seems the sim racing footwear i've seen around, is basically a neoprene slip on with a bit of a sole. Basically have those from snorkelling/diving. I might use those.

Re: Shoes? Socks?
Yep snorkelling or neoprene protective beach shoes could work depending how thick the rubber sole is.

Re: Shoes? Socks?
Barefoot for sprint races, socks for enduros.
Also, to complete the sim feel:
It also helps to have a friend or relative standing by with a 4x2 so when you crash they can give you appropriate injuries and head trauma to really make you feel like you crashed.

Re: Shoes? Socks?
I have the Fast Track Sims shoes and they're pretty good, they're not neoprene by the way but suede or something so they breath and are very light.
