I was planing on doing a recce, then the stage. Which I feel is realistic. It probably wouldn't help me much. I can remember maybe 5-6 turns on a stage if I'm lucky.

I'm not sure if you can do that in between check points though.

I havent the time to practice so the events are the only driving i'll do. Although, my rift arrives tomorrow apparently so I may end up finding more time somehow hehe

by the way binding the handbrake to something usable is a must for these stages (as I found out). :prod:

I blew a 25 second lead....
Rolled it stage 2
Off the side of a slope and out of bounds stage 3
Side of a house and into the trees three times stage 5
Did the exact same on stage 6 cos the last half is just stage five again.
5 Minutes down...

I ran a test of stage 1 to play with the setup and that was 25 seconds faster than my actual run. So I know how it feels!

First go Dirt Rally VR... managed not to throw up but still feeling pretty queezy 10 mins later.
A few errors, had an austin powers 10 point turn moment and a brush with a tree but overall pretty clean.

6 stages will be my max in one sitting with VR. Didnt have any trouble in AC but the big dips in DR really screwed with my brain!

As far as VR intensity goes, DiRT Rally is one of the worst.

War Thunder is even more full on. And the worst I've felt is the shifter karts in project cars. I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've had motion sickness in my life.

I was not ready for the switch in rallies! I didn't even know you could visit different countries in the one event

Yet youre still on top of the leaderboard... stop ya bitchin Image

You can completely customise a rally event. One stage you might be restricted to Japanese manufactured cars at greece and the next its open slather in wales.

Is it too late to start? Or have I missed the boat?

Going by the Rally site you still have 1 day and 14 hours to complete your run.

That was awesome fun!! I didn't get a chance to practice any of the stages really, just a quick run on the first. But really felt the pressure of knowing I was competing against others. I made it my mission to look after the car and try not to make any mistakes. I came off the road once but managed to get it back going fairly easily. I think I took it a bit too cautious at times and lost time because of it. The final stage of Greece I lost a fair whack of time.

Tried to do a last minute run in the league, but couldn't figure out how to run it. I've registered on Racenet and entered the league, but in game when I click on leagues it ways I'm not registered on Racenet, and opens a browser window to login, but I'm already logged in, so just went round and round in circles.

I'll have to join in next week. Am I missing something obvious, do I need to link my profile in game to the Racenet account or something, or do you just need to be logged in to Racenet on the same machine that you're running DR?

Losing headlights for half of the night stage, annoying!
Being just plain slow, typical!
still beating bails, priceless!

Figured it out (had to link the Racenet account to steam account), and ran the rally, but finished a few minutes too late so my times didn't count. Will make sure I get it doen in time next week!

That's annoying pab! I struggled as well with launching the game from the browser. I was pointing it to the DiRT Rally Exe and all sorts. I had to run it all last night, I usually can't concentrate for that long very well.

Round 2 has started!
Image

Featuring some R4 beasts over eight stages, this rally runs the classic club-level 4-day-4-night stage format, meaning you'll run the rally once in daylight and once in nighttime, taking it easy is preferred over outright speed as one spin here and you're stuck in the snow.

Awesome. Just to clarify, we definitely can quit the game after reaching a service area and come back to it the next day?
