Been watching this today.

Lucky he hasn't done any more than ban the mods, as far as we know.

WHAT A WANKER!

Crazy that someone can find hacking lfs more fun than driving it...........
But by the sounds of that thread he is a bit of a wrecker neways.

I did see the anouncment (dont know if it was an edited version tho)
went something like....

Happy new year from Phlos.

Yeah, been going on since about lunch time. Looks like he waited until the devs would likely be asleep and then banned all the mods so they wouldn't remove his announcement. He's banned again although unless they fix the holes it doesn't mean all that much.

Mind you, good to see the LFS forums treating the sperm spill with the lack of respect / regard he deserves.

When I started reading that thread, it had 3 pages. Now I'm up to reading page 7, and it's grown to another half dozen pages!

Might leave it for tonight and finish reading it tomorrow.

you are alone, and i'm sooo sorry for that.

So now you think, you helped LFS, by behaving like a cheap thief (again)? It's ridiculous, and I think it's about time we use the info we have on you with some buddies with baseball-bats in france, watch ur back, slowpoke.

just something that caught me eye through the thread.

I don't think he "tried to hack masterservers". When we first released browse for speed, Phlos came in our IRC chan and I talked to him a fair bit, shared knowledge of the querying protocol - he mentioned that the master server had crashed when he unintentionally sent a wrongly formed packet (just something the server wasn't expecting) - hardly "trying to hack". I also dont think he tried to give out trojan software - lfs manager does require a username/pass for some of its functionality, but as far as I'm aware it didn't do anything trojan like. Given his past actions, I wouldn't trust it though... I think his slick tyre mod required that everyone on the server had it, or some mismatch thing happened too - I think Vykos is spreading misinformation here....

That said, he is very arrogant (French??), likes to shut his eyes and yell loudly. He coded lfs manager in some crazy version of Basic, and _insisted_ that it got around limitations of windows. I told him it wasn't possible to get around that certain limitation, and even after he released the app and I showed him that it didn't work properly it was hard to convince him that I wasn't lying about it. He was unhappy when a lot of people told others not to download his app, but given his other idiotic actions, he can hardly blame them.

He certainly needs to grow up....

I don't remember the exact details (if you search the lfsforum site I'm sure you can find them) but about "hacking the masterservers": Phlos set up some sort of script that hammered the master server trying to read a massive amount of data (like continuously for days). I can't remember the reason for it, or the exact details, but it was against the terms of use and really slowed things down a lot. He reacted very badly when told that he shouldn't program his code to work in such a way. I think that is what he eventually got banned for.

He's done a whole bunch of other stuff as well. Some of the backlash may be unfair, but he's a fair w4nker.

As someone who sees a little behind the scenes,
believe me Phlos is a hacker and has released some very nasty stuff to keylog betatesters
trying to get into some non public area's.

He's released a number of exploits trying to get S1 & S2 content
available to demo license drivers, with some limited success.

And lots of other shit, he's psycho, pure and simple.
