Hopefully the loss will do the aussies good, they need a good kick in the pants every now and then to bring their heads back down from the clouds.

Couple of things that really worry me for the world cup, Gilchrist is in shocking form and has been for quite some time, i'm not so sure he is a suitable opener any longer. Gilchrist is falling cheaply quite often and sure he gets the aussies away to an occasional flying start, but I'm beginning to think it is more from luck than anything else. A lot of early preasure is going straight onto Ponting, now he has had a pretty good series and showed the way for the rest of the players but when he gets out early the rest of the batters seem to just fold.

I'm yet to be convinced Michael Clarke is something 'amazing' as they keep saying, he doesn't deal with preasure very well and despite plenty of opportunity he hasn't really produced, a number 4 batsmen should be rock sold and he isn't, add to that Brad Hodge who has been shaky at best and you have quite a weak middle order and lots of preasure on Ponting and Hussey . I would prefer Hussey further up the list and to perhaps begin looking for alternatives to Hodge and Clarke.

Of all the batsmen only Hayden, Ponting & Hussey in a time of need can really put it together, if you get those three cheaply Australia is beaten.

I find it quite amazing that Phil Jacques is still waiting for a decent chance to get a spot in the team.

I found Warne's comments quite interesting. Especially his comments about Buchannan's training methods, working the team so hard for the period just before the tri-series finals. I suspect Warne is right on this one and the team is knackered.

^^ We can only hope.
Honestly though, who here wont be cheering for the Netherlands just a little when they take on Australia at the World Cup?
You can be true blue Aussie as you want, hoping that Australia totally dominate the tournament... but there's also that part of us that loves to support the no-chance underdog, and will be hoping that the Dutch cricket team can somehow pull an fairytale win in a David vs. Goliath battle against the best cricketing nation in the world. :)

Or perhaps I'm coming down with 4of5-syndorome and had better shut up before I get deported :D
