So, You Want To Be A Photographer

Post by macca »

Received this email last week, is from my wife's niece, who went about being a photographer the right way, that is, did photo journalism at Uni or wherever :D , part of her email as follows:

"Subject: Another boring old day at my job

Oh you know, hate to complain, but today I got stuck with the really
shit job of FLYING IN A HELICOPTER OUT TO SEA TO PHOTOGRAPH QUEEN MARY 2
AS IT SAILED PAST BYRON BAY!! Yeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

Gosh my job sucks sometimes. They even opened the door out in the
middle of the Ocean so I could take my photographs. I believe, and I
think you can quote me fairly accurately on this, my exact words were
"HOLY SHIT". Apparently, and you cannot quote me on this as I was caught
up in the excitement, the pilot pissed himself laughing at my nervous
giggling and repeated use of the word 'Jeepers'. Luckily I was harnessed
in, particularly for the moment we did a naughty dive by and got a
little g-force. G-Force makes you want to puke, that bit is NOT
exciting, well except for the bit when the QM2 captain told us off for
dive-bombing too close! Teehee! "

Her photo was on the front page of the 'Northern Star'

You know those moments when you just know you have been owned and should just nod your acceptence of it. This is one of those moments

As to the image itself. Not only was it a tough job, she was paid for it as well. Top stuff :)

I did it at about 5am, so you are lucky it worked on 1 :)

And get ready for a shakeup. I might have a chat to Kev about 1 theme only :)
