Reloaded 3

Post by Pinger$ »

Hi All,

Just a heads up for those that care -

Reloaded 3 is a huge lan coming up in Jan 2008 in Adelaide.
Number of people going is expected around the 1000 mark.

Currently there are $70k in prizes to giveaway.

If we (fellow ARSE's) want a racing competition for something a little more realistic than trackmania, now's your chance to speak up.
If we can get 10 people interested in a LFS race (or any other sim for that matter) we'll be able to run a comp with decent prizes guaranteed.

Feel free to ask questions here, but if you want a competition/have a competition idea, just post it on the reloaded racing forum and see what happens.

http://www.reloadedlan.com/r3/index.php?board=36.0

Check it out!

PS. Feel free to play things other than racing ;)

EDIT: The vitals :)

Venue - Adelaide Showground
Start Time - 11am Saturday January 26th
Finish Time - 7pm Sunday January 27th
Ticket Price - $30

Damn I'll miss out by 1 month.

Sounds fun. A large scale AAL race in the same room.

Ooh, I'll let the head organiser know - I know he wants it to be Australia's biggest, but if you've had 1200 at Shafted, might be struggling.

The last reloaded event had 600 people I think and sold out.

EDIT: The biggest one I could find for them was 500 on this page http://www.shafted.com.au/photos/index.php?cat=2

I travelled from Adelaide to Shafted X with my old quake team :) good times, but the network was screwed and paused every minute for about 1 second. We made (and lost) the winners bracket final and then somehow got placed 4th missing out on the prizes :(

I think one of my mates travelled over for the Big Day In aswell.. that had the huge Q3 comp yeah?

I was at that. I miss going to shafted, but it sucked after they actively shut down the DC hubs. I used to sit there all night downloading shit, way too much fun :D

I'm pretty certain that networking won't be an issue at reloaded... there's been some good help from a big sponsor.

Spewing the article is pre-lan... would be good to know just how many people they got there... bloody good effort for 2002.

I think valhalla had some big 600 person events around then... pre-cheap-broadband days :)

I think capacity for the event is about 1500. I don't think we'll get near that though.

Tickets are on sale now... but chances are no one is prepared to commit this early, which is fine.

The sooner a comp gets organised, the better the chances of getting a decent set of prizes lined up for it.

So - I reckon an autox style event may be best... that way no arguments about unfair tactics.

Thoughts?
