Good on him. I think he probably knows he is past his best. His keeping has been sloppy to say the least. I hope he gets runs in this test. He deserves them.

Thats a big hole in the team. More so I think that Warne or McGrath leaving. I don't think they have really been "prepping" the next keeper as much as they have the next bowlers / batsmen and Gilchrist has moved the goal posts for the place of a keeper in the team.

Haddin Nige. Haddin should be the next keeper.

Haddin will slot in easily enough i think. Large hole experience and leadership wise, though Haddin can do the job with gloves and bat.

Im sure Gilly got a tap on the shoulder.. so he could go out in style.

He's been awesome.. no doubt there, but his best is well behind him..

Haddin will make a great replacement but we will all miss Gilchrist's explosive batting :nod:
