Howdy guys.
Im trying to open the .veh car model from V8 factor into a 3d editor such as 3D Studio max.
Do any of you rFactor nuts know if this can be done?????

Have you got the ISI plugins? I think they only work reliably with Max 8.

.veh file isn't anything to do with the model as far as i know.
I think you need to unpack the .MAS file to get at the gmt's which are the models. You can get all the tools from the rfactor website
http://rfactor.net/index.php?page=devcorner
"rFactor mod development tool pack" should have the bits you need.

Yeah VEH is essentially a text file and can be opened in notepad and describes a few things like default skin, driver name no. team name etc.DarrenM wrote:.veh file isn't anything to do with the model as far as i know.

From memory, wasn't the model for the V8's somehow locked so no one could "steal" their work?

Re: Opening a .veh file into a 3d editor
Thanks for the info guys, appreciate it.
I was after this for work (Clipsal) as they wanted to get a V8 model for a promo they are doing for the 500 and had no problems at all paying for its useage. Ive had a scratch around and tried to get it to work but im over it now as the deadline is right around the corner so ill leave the problem with the person who contacted me LOL...
Cheers again.

As it stands, it is not possible for the V8 factor cars to be imported into 3ds max. You could easily use the F1 Challenge cars if you wanted, or else shoot OSRM an email explaining you reasons, and they might be willing to help

Re: Opening a .veh file into a 3d editor
there is a render scene for the V8s to 3DS Max. It can be found at:
V8Factor Commodore & Falcon
These are from the GTR mod, but will work. You have to save over the files already there (wheels, body, windows etc). If you get stuck, PM.
