Not a bad fight back by the looks of things. A pity Hughes couldn't get some runs on debut. North looks to be holding his own though.

I clearly remember Lawson stating back when he was coach that their was no threat...thank fucking christ we didnt go their...the yanks could do worse than drop a few bombs on that place, clearly the location that the terrorists hang out in.

Very sad news. Not only for the players but for cricket in Pakistan. It was something which united the country. Other than making international cricket / sport a non-event in Pakistan, I can't really see a reason for it.

Hmm, the test is into its second day after Aus scored 304 on the 1st day, there has been 9 wickets fall this morning over there, plus Smith is off retired hurt again. Looks like I might have to rethink my opinion of M. Johnson.

One thing I've noticed in the very brief amounts I've seen (mainly the wickets) is that the Aussie bowlers finally seem to be swinging the ball.

This is something that really wasn't happening in Australia over the summer.

Am I correct in this?

Re swinging the ball, thats correct.

Johnson seems to have found his inswinger again, and Hilfy always swings the ball.

That said, I think its harder to swing the ball in Australia due to climatic conditions.

Add to the conditions the Dukes ball and if Johnson can keep swinging it and Shizenhausen goes away, they could be a potent pair. Alderman anyone?
