Recomend me a interstate removalist Brisbane to Melbourne

Post by Righteous »

Hi Lads,

The little lady and I are about to wrap up our jobs in the next few weeks and have decided to look for more work down in Melbourne. Basically I'm after a removalist to get our stuff in our medium sized 2 bedroom apartment from Brisbane to Melbourne. I have googled a bit but I trust arses recommendations over websites.

Basically want it a cheap as possible without getting my shit broken. Will pay whatever I need to but don't want to get arse raped.

Suggestions pretty please.

PS anyone who has made the move, how much am I looking at?

I used GRACE (http://www.grace.com.au/) to move from Armidale NSW to Adelaide. They may not be the cheapest but they have a good name and everything arrives as it should.

Lol. I'm sure Melbournia will be fine. I'm looking forward to proper seasons again. Thanks for the link Astro. I don't mind if it's a little more, just as long as all my stuff makes it. I'm loading all my income generating things (pc, camera) into the car and driving down. I will get the rest sent down.

Thankfully we have family to stay with down there while we get sorted. Looking forward to parking my bike on the footpath :)

Any gansta suburbs I should avoid? We are looking to be no more than 20 minutes drive from cbd.

Theres nothing hugely bad within 20 mins of the city.... Collingwood would probably be the worst for crime etc. Most of the bad stuff seems to happen in outer suburbs like Noble Park, Croydon, Dandenong, Frankston etc.

dex your car wont be robbed if you have a pies flag on it, they run it like gag tags just don't park it at Richmond

Grace used by ADF for the interstate moves too, all my stuff got to NSW from Townsville fine. One broken lamp, but it was crap anyway.

If price is no object and you want great service use pedemonts http://www.pedemonts.com.au/Pedemonts_Home.html .

We used them when going from Sydney to Gold Coast a few years ago and several other people i know have also used them. They even do storage which we needed to do due to the cirumstances.

Thanks guys. I didn't realise this thread had continued on. I got a few quotes and the price has ranged from 1500 to 2200. So all in all, it's not too bad, but it still not cheap.

As for the move, things have changed a little in the last week. Seems a Sydney move is on the cards. There just isn't much work in Melbourne at the moment with what the Mrs and I do. Time will tell, I've got a few things to wrap up in Brisbane over the next few weeks, it may change again.

Thanks all
