Do any of you guys do your own framing?
I wanted to frame a photo I took, but I cropped it in a non frame-standard rectangle. To get a custom frame made up costs ridiculous amounts of money. Surely it can't be that hard to make a frame, or am I missing something?

Re: Framing
What size is it?
You could probably get it matted with the outside being a standard frame size.

Re: Framing
Thats probably the best idea.. would still need a Mat to be cut to size, but I guess that would be a lot cheaper.
I'm not sure on it's exact size or the exact size I actually want - I just know its not standard and was pondering a little

Re: Framing
I once made frames for a living. . . It's not rocket science, however the right equipment helps.
The cheapest option, buy a frame from the reject shop, take it to a framer, ask them to cut a matt to fit supplied photo and frame. Simple.
Oh, tell them not to put the frame together, just take the newly cut matt home, and fit it yourself.

I got a few frames from Crazy Roys on south road here in Adelaide. He really is crazy.. dirt cheap and they cut new matts to fit my photos perfectly. I ended up walking out with 4 big frames for a total of $80!
