Well after Flinty's epic Baw baw ride, I was looking at all the climbs I have done to see just how much pain he must have been going through.

Mate hurry up & get that road bike, after dropping 5-7kg's in bike weight your times will reduce dramatically.

The top part of that Berry Mountain climb looks tough. WIll have to drag myself up there one day to see how I go.

I just had a play in Google earth and you can plot out a route and get an elevation map of it.

The climb in the ride I was looking to do at Easter is a lot steeper than I thought. I was thinking to go counter-clockwise to get it over with early. The road is also straighter on that side. The steep part starts at Copeland, peaking where the cloud is. Then there is about 20km of dirt between Rawdon Vale and Berrico.

Hopefully I can get some rides in over the next 2 weeks or I don't think I'll be fit enough.

Also found this site but it only lets you plot up to 10 points.

Look like a great climb DarrenM, I would actually do it the other way as descending a more open road is always a touch safer plus the twisty side usually means more gradient. Actually knowing me I would do one side then go back up the other to see how different each side is.
But then I am a sadistic hill climber, bigger & steeper is always better, I blame the 6amers for that.

That is a fair climb Darren. Do you have the KMZ file for that. Would love to have a closer look.

Hmm, interesting. The slope is on the northern side so if I were going clockwise I'd be on the inside of any blind corners (as per street view image below), but going anti-clockwise I'd be on the outside.

Hard to tell how tight the corners are on street view. Can't see any recommended speed signs so they're probably not that tight, which just makes me more concerned really because the speed difference would be greater.
