Video stuff + DIY projects
Well, I got a d3100 the other night with the intention on using it purely for Video work. Gonna start delving into the world of filming some of our Mountain Bike Rides.
So I thought I'd make my own accessories. Today I built this:-
It rolls up and down that planky thing. One cool thing is that because I got the wheels off of some kids rollerskates, the wheels have LED's in them and flash when it rolls..woot.
here's the 1st test run I did with the 50mm prime on it.

It's a little rough as I was running it along that Saw Horse, I now have some nice smooth Aluminium rails for it.
While I was at it, I also built myself a steadycam holder for it, which is basically a long piece of Galv pipe with counter weights on the bottom with a handle. This helps when your walking or running with the camera to maintain a steady shot. And it works, all these gadjets have cost me about $70 to build all up. Not bad.....

That's rather cool.
A suggestion; how about getting some wheels from an R/C car with foam tyres. That should damp out some of the vibration.

Nice rail he's got there! And really nice location! that old building is awesome. I wish there weren't so many druggies around Melbourne... I'm usually nervous as hell when I go into places like that.

That shot up the power tower was brilliant. Such a cool view.
