POPSTATIC performer Gina G is shaping up as a comeback queen and is recording what she hopes will be a swag of dancefloor anthems in Melbourne.
The US-based Aussie had a huge hit in the '90s with the infectious Ooh Aah ... Just a Little Bit, but her follow-up releases did not achieve the same success. Then family became her priority.

"I have got two children now ... and I have been in mumsville for seven years," she said. "I wanted to be the best mum I could be. Now they are both at school, I've got time to work."

G, whose new single Next 2 U is on iTunes, admits Ooh Ah is a tough act to follow.

"It will be played at parties and clubs forever, it is a classic," she said.

"I will never forget what gave me my first break. I have to be grateful for that, but it is time to move on.

"People have always expected me to write Ooh Ah number two and I never will. It just can't be done."
