Grooveshark vs Groovedown

Post by EzyRider »

There are times as an internet DJ on a certain torrent website that I need to go hunt for a song that is not in my catalogue of several hundred gig collection.

In times gone by, I'd usually just convert a YouTube song to mp3 and just use that, but that could often mean poor quality rips with crackles and pops, not what I need to have on the show at any times.

Not any more.

Grooveshark.com is an internet streaming music centre, and all their songs are high quality rips. However, you cannot download the songs, which can be a real drag. Notwithstanding, some clever little bastard has found a way to rip the songs from the breast of GrooveShark.

Groovedown is a funky new tool to download and find any music that you should be craving to listen to time and again, rather than streaming it.

I use it every time I do my shows, and it's yet to let me down on a request. If you're just looking for one odd song here and there, this is the tool to stick with in my eyes.

Check it out, if you like it, let them know. They'll appreciate the feedback.

Thanks Ezy, never heard of either of the two.
Works sweet at work as well, so now I dont have to listen to shit radio stations, just load up a bunch of good music and get on with it!

Cheers

If you get a VPN you can quite easily get Spotify, but not free of course. I have a VPN for Pandora, but recently discovered Grooveshark and it's sometimes nice to be able to select exactly what you want to hear. I don't see how Grooveshark is legal though? Seems too good to be true.

Grooveshark, is quite a nice site... lots of variety.

As for legalistics of it.. maybe a sort of trial or some one for got to stop it from being allowed.
