You would be surprised how common that sort of thing is at JB. Most girls buy a camera on appearance and aesthetics no matter what you tell them. The non tough Lumix cameras are hard to sell to the ladies because they don't look as sleek and stylish as the Sony and Canon cameras, even though the Lumix cameras are geneally the best.

The funny thing for me was that they most probably already have iPhones (which take a pretty decent picture) which they can all go goey over. You could probably sell them a pink cover I suppose...
