Doubt it... Clarke's upped the pace a fair bit. Doesn't looked too fussed if he goes out.

I think they will turn it on a bit now.
Some speculating he will declare at 334. I doubt it.

The best middle order batting display I've seen and to declare a head of personal achievements, Clarke has impressed me and I think I won't be alone.

Brad Haddin is lucky Tim Paine is injured. Piss poor form and doesnt deserve his place in the team. Has done nothing to earn it and he should sit and watch like Mitch the bitch does.
Very impressive display by Clarke and Hussey. Full credit to them.

Re: 2011-12 Summer of Cricket
I was at the SCG today. was great to see pup get his 300 but was a pretty boring day otherwise. The end was very frustrating, the Indians just wanting to get in the sheds and the aussie quicks bowling short to them.. made it easy for them to let everything go.. BOWL AT THE STUMPS!

The population of India just dropped by one fifth. I really wanted Tendulkar to make 100

Yea I was hoping to see that too, he is an icon so it's always nice to see them achieve their milestones and at the SCG would have been great for him.
That said, well played by the Aussies, some luck in the third innings. I enjoyed spending the whole day in bed, in aircon, eating crap and watching the cricket.

He should be dropped as a national disgrace. It has been nearly 2 years since he has made an international century. Fucking woefulDr. Pain wrote: I really wanted Tendulkar to make 100
oh wait
He is a long serving batsman who has done his country proud for many years and deserves his spot in the side regardless. Besides, who would you replace such talent with.
or as Kerry said, dont worry Sachin, you will no doubt be playing the Bangers in Dakar sometime soon

Just had a mental image of a small man in a racing car bed eating chicken drumsticks, and I laughed.c.j wrote:I enjoyed spending the whole day in bed, in aircon, eating crap and watching the cricket.

I actually thought I was posting it at a different forum. I'm blaming too much riding for the brain fart.

There is a slight difference. Sachin has scored 9 centuries since Pontings previous one. Ponting should just piss off and live of all the endorsements he so highly prizes.

Re: 2011-12 Summer of Cricket
I find it interesting that the two are compared. I have no doubt that ST is a better bat, but as a cricketer I reckon Punter is better, plus Ponting flourished as captain re scoring runs, ST couldnt handle it.
I think its still very valid, I dont see anyone in the wings that could provide or better what he currently offers...no doubt hes not the cricketer he was, but hey thats what age does!

yeah I did exaggerate a little It was January 2011 when Sachin got his last test century. So nearly a year.

Perth next then Rad-elaide? I am not familiar with cricket on those grounds so not really sure what to expect. Will we win? I heard that Adelaide is more similar to an Indian pitch. Why?

It can be a little flat at times. Perth is bouncy.

Re: 2011-12 Summer of Cricket
On late night ABC radio they were getting people to SMS in headlines for the next days newspapers describing the day of cricket when Pup got his triple-century. Most people were sending in headlines like "Pub becomes top dog" and other things about the knock of Clarke.
I was sorely tempted to SMS in "Indian bowling so crap, even Ponting got a century."
