If you're buying from Ikea

Post by Montey »

A tip for buying things from Ikea...

If you're on the east coast of Australia and are considering purchasing some things (big or small) from Ikea check out the website for the Adelaide store.

If you're in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane (I think Brisbane) the only way you can buy things is if you go in to one of their stores, survive the experience and then get your purchases home somehow. Adelaide and Perth, however, have online purchasing and will ship interstate. The natural assumption is that this may work out more expensive, by the time you increase shipping costs..... but not always.

I just ordered 3 cupboards for our lounge area (90cm wide x 180cm tall). In Melbourne it would have cost be $799.00 per unit, plus another $120 to have them delivered. Ordering them from Adelaide, they were $699 per unit, with freight being $265. I saved $155 by buying from Adelaide and didn't have to go in to the store.
- When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.
- If youre paddling upstream in a canoe and a wheel falls off, how many pancakes fit in a doghouse? None! Icecream doesn't have bones!!!
