Red sports car looking for a new home...

Post by Scottie »

Hey guys,

It's time I got rid of my car, and despite being a bit late on posting it, it will be gone in one form or another in 2 weeks. If you know of anyone looking for a light nimble sports car, point them in this direction!

seriously is that all they are worth? Or have you priced it to go? Seems cheap despite it having travelled to the moon and back.

a bit of both... It does need a few things, and no RWC, despite it being just a formality

Also, it's a 20yo car. Still, I'm sure it's good fun :)

Fark me that's cheap regardless of the k's or age. Our second hand car market is pretty strong compared to most countries and cars tend to bottom out above that sort of money if they're in good nick. Good luck with the sale, Scottie!

So the guys that swang by tonight is keen, and fine with how the car is now.

Vicroads adv it's illegal to sell a car unroadworthy, so how do you process a sale without RWC while complying to Vicroads?

Do we just not fill in the RWC bit and let him sort it out after payment and delivery?

I know when i bought my car they guy offered to drop the price a bit if i did the RWC... I didn't wanna do that though, and glad i didn't, they can sting you over a few things... he had to replace a tyre, windshield, and a couple of other bits and pieces. Im sure there must be some way of doing it though, what if someone wanted to sell a car that was only going to be used on a racetrack? or a car that needed heaps of work to get going?

I had that problem when I sold one of my bikes, vicroads won't let you sell a car/bike with rego but without rwc. As far as I know you have two options. The legal way is to cancel the registration and allow the buyer to get the rwc( & un registered vehicle permit if he plans to drive it home) and re register the car. Or you can go the dodgy option and sign all the paperwork, take the cash and let them sort it out.

Yep. Cancel the rego (youll get a refund on the remaining time left on the rego which is quite a bit in your case.). Youll probably have to forward that refund onto the buyer though as rego is something alot of buyers want when looking to purchase.
