Digital photo frames

Post by Big Kev »

So I think I've been good this year and Santa reckons he can get me a digital photo frame, which would be nice for rolling some of the half decent pictures I've taken :) No point taking them if you're not going to look at them eh?

Any yays or nays from the various makers? I think sub £100 would be the ideal price range and an 8" screen would be nice.

I reckon you'd be better off buying some decent frames you can put prints in. Digital photo frames are tacky in my opinion.

They always seemed a bit wasteful to me. Can't you just put your iPad on a shelf? :)

It's a good idea nowadays, Durbs, buy a cheap tablet and just set it up :) Maybe not an ipad, it's a tad too expensive.

We've a frame, older one, bought a couple of years back. It's still working nicely, and it's good to see some photos there in the living room - I've put ~30 on it. They rotate pretty slowly. A few visitors don't even notice that it's a digital frame for a while, hehe, only when they catch the trasition :)

It's a samsung one. (this seemed to have the nicest picture in the shop)

It uses a single SD card, so the amount of pictures one could put on is insane. Especially since the display resolution is fairly low, so no reason to put hi-res photos on. (but because of the small-ish screen there's no pixelation visible so it's all good)

Oh, and it doubles as a night light :)
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Agreed. If only I had some wall space to call my own ... and some of my own pictures I actually like enough to print.

I don't really feel like a photo is finished until its printed.

I have hardly any wall space in my small flat so I think it'll have to be a digi frame anyway.

I just never really feel that I like any of my own work enough to warrant/justify printing it ... I'm aware that printing something is less of a big deal than this, but to me it's a major obstacle, deciding something is good enough that I'd actually like to look at it repeatedly.

We've got a few of my photos printed on stretch canvas and hanging on the walls at home. They came out really well

Two are of sunsets and one of a beloved family pet that passed away.

here's the originals

You can pretty much done them anywhere

My wife said she got them on line (Zazz i think she said)

but any big photo printer does them now (Teds, Big W, Harvey Normans etc etc)

They are allways having printing sales at those places so keep an eye open
