New camera dilemma

Dex, iirc the new 24-70L doesn't have the extra stop compared to the 24-105L anymore. They're both f4.0 now.

EDIT: sorry I'm mistaken the non-IS 24-70L is f2.8 but near double the cost of the IS 24-70L f4.0. :O

Yeah we don't have any restrictions on camera gear. Besides I'd have it in a rucksack and they don't search bags. I've seen people there before with monopods and 2ft lenses just sitting in the stands.

I heard rumors of an IS 24-70. I didn't know it was out! That's very disappointing though that they made it f/4. I'm not at all sure why you'd bother with it over the 24-105 :S If it had been an f/2.8 I would have probably sold my 24-105 to get one.

The Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L II USM came out just before Christmas. It's phenomenally expensive though. Getting on for 2 grand UKP. It's over twice the price of the 24-105.
