Looks like it will be U.S. only at this stage from what I've read.

It will be available from Google but only at outright price..
As it stands.. it's the only phone I would buy at the moment

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
It's a good move and something manufacturers should have been doing for a while now but even if I could do a straight swap I'll keep my HTC One. A month on and I still haven't unlocked or rooted it and not sure I'll ever feel the need.
I'll be curious to read if the S4 gets the stock AOSP camera because that's one area I think both the S4 and One would lose out a lot with AOSP.
A lot of developers have been pretty critical of Samsung lately but this could see development really kick off for the S4 now, but possibly not for the Exynos variant I guess.

I'm enjoying my GS4, I don't use many of the features... only pop them on when I need them, so I'm finding I'm easily getting 3 days out of a charge

ROFL. I wonder when they'll lose their shine, with more customer buying another brand.

This is why social networks shit me, every little fault gets blown out of all proportion to appease the mob, rather than just take it back for warranty, he decides to get on and tell everyone about it, because hey if it's happened to me, it must be an emergency that everyone should be warned about, how is this fault confined to just Samsung, a dodgy connector can happen in any phone.

Yet to see actual definitive proof that it was a fault with the phone and not something the user did.

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
I installed Cyanogenmod 11 Nightly on my phone on saturday.
Looks good, runs fine, Wifi tethering doesnt work, cant access the play store for some reason just says "please enable 2g/3g" or similar. but other than that was fine.
Back onto 10.2 now though, need that play store!

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
I've been waiting for some of the bugs/incompatibilities to be sorted out before I installed it, but looks like it's almost there. As soon as it's more complete, it's going straight in!

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
My S4 on Optus received an OTA for 4.3 last night.
I didnt think Sammy and Optus would get it over the line before Christmas. One of my mates on Telstra is still waiting for his OTA update.

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
i put Cyanogenmod 11 on my HTC One a few days ago and it's been surprisingly good, no real bugs yet which is odd considering it's fairly new. Mind you it's a 3rd party version not the official mod, so maybe the dev did a few things to make it a bit more stable. I don't know if i'll stick with it though.

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
Got lucky with my S4 yesterday.
I was filming the boy slashing some water around and the next thing i know, he turns and splashes me... No biggie i thought as it was a very small splash and i could only see water in the middle of the back of the phone. A few hours later I went to connect the S4's Bluetooth to the lounge room AV receiver and there is no sound. Turns out a small amount of water made it into the headphone jack and the phone thought the headphones were always connected.
I couldn't hear incoming calls, the person on the other end couldn't hear me because the phone thought that a hands free headset was attached. No media audio, nadda.
I let it dry out and its all good today. Phewww.

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
I got frustrated at my GS4 the other day... was on a walk around Jells Park, had RunKeeper running, but wanted to take a photo. I hit pause and loaded up the camera... at which the thing froze, advised the SD card had been unexpectedly removed, and then sent my phone into a series of reboots.... >:[
So I've not just rooted the thing, and am trying to decide which ROM to go on.
My HTC Legend is still running strong with an old version of CyanogenMod, and was thinking of going down that path...
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jfltexx&type=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but they've still got a few things not working by the looks of things, so I thin jumped on XDA and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=2557353" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
no other ROM's look as promising to be honest... Has anyone else played around with theirs?
