Re: Adelaide Photogs - Mark Horsburgh event
So I went to this event last night. I guess the bad bit was that it was fairly Canon-centric; Possibly overly so. So in places it seemed a bit like a infomerical. On the other hand, there were some examples of techniques etc that were quite interesting. The night was basically an open forum for anyone to ask questions.
What I was expecting (since it was billed as a motorsport photography presentation) was basically photos of cars etc, but it turns out he also does the official driver portraits, studio shots of car etc, so there were discussions and examples of that aspect too, so the focus wasn't quite as narrowly focused as i was expecting, which i consider to be a good thing, with discussions about the use of speedlites being high on the agenda.
The take home message appeared to be that everyone needs more lenses and speedlights.. many more. Canon branded naturally. As a Pentax user, I'm not sure how that'll work out for me
