Smartphone Headtracking

Post by r8response »

Ghetto Headtracking :D

Smartphone Headtracking

I'm currently using it via my old Galaxy S2. Any Android phone with a gyroscope should work.

Attaching the S2 to my headphones only required a couple of hair ties.

Tested and working in:

Assetto Corsa
Elite Dangerous
War Thunder
Arma 3
DayZ Standalone

Santa hat made it a sweet deal.
Some play it safe on the merry-go-round, others go for the thrills of the roller-coaster.

I have a joke for you. I have a prediction that you are going to walk into a bar, my prediction was wrong and your wallet is gone.

Is it actually viable? The latency between movements in the video was probably too much. I have a spare smashed Nexus 5 here, might try it out this weekend!

When playing Elite and War Thunder I can't say I've notice any latency to be honest.
