Gents, just received this from Guybrush on the AC forums.

Hi Norbs!

Rather than doing another inter-league race, I thought it would be good to try and organise an event between all the different AC leagues in the region - Aus/NZ/maybe south Asia?. So an oceanic AC event.

Thought you might be able to put the feelers out in your league and see who would be interested? At this stage I'm just canvassing interest.

The leagues I know of in the region are: XGN, ASR, ARSE, ROOZ, ASRNZ.

The idea, depending on numbers, would be to have 2 or 3 divisions based on qualifying on a selected server in the week before the race night so everyone gets a go, and then as well as winning your division, comparing everyone's total race time. There would be 2 separate races in different cars/tracks based on a poll. These details could change depending on what the consensus is though.

Is anyone interested so as he at least has some idea of numbers?

I'd give it a shot, I'm a much better steerer now than when I licked all the windows around me in the ARSE/XGN series.

Great to see some interest guys, and thanks Norbs for putting this up.

I've had a lot of interest from some of the other leagues I've mentioned it to, but would appreciate being pointed in the direction of any other major leagues I've missed as well. In particular if there was a league in Indonesia or other SE Asian country that would be OK ping wise. I also couldn't really find any other NZ leagues...?

If you could let me know when your league season dates are, that would help in determining when to run it. I think most leagues are waiting for 1.2 to release and then run a season. I'd be looking at doing it just after that season (although I'm sure it will be difficult to get a date that suits every single league).

I think it would be best that a pre-qualify session determines which server you are on and the points adjusted based on the server. Otherwise someone could easily sandbag in pre-qual then get a clear track in the race. Just my opinion, obviously I will deal with what ever the bosses decide

Yes, if you could post it at RD please Renesis.

People could sand-bag, but it's not in the spirit of the event. They will only deprive themselves of some good racing which is what it's all about really. There isn't anything on the line other than some fun.
