That's a touch lower than I predicted, once the regular editions come they should be sub $700 which is not too bad considering I paid around $800 for an R9 Nano in Jan. Unfortunately these days if you want the performance you have to pay, the mid range just doesn't seem to have the performance value it once did. I remember buying $300 cards every couple years and getting big jumps in performance but that hasn't existed for quite a while now. Maybe this new gen may bring a little of that back.

I honestly expected 600-700. Bloody paid 500 for my gtx 680 which was top of the line. Prices these days are insane. The difference in the us price vs the aus price is a joke too

I think that's the main contributor, the $AUD is crap now so it's a double whammy as import duties &/or sales tax also rise with it, if if I'm not mistaken.

Steady on! If you worked in the public service or in government we might have to frown at you in the Muppet Voting thread.

I work in media/advertising. Possibly more corrupt than either you mentioned. ;)

GTX1070 Flounders from $699.00- $779.00.
GTX1070 Customs from $749.00...

There were a few sites selling the Gigabyte G1 but nobody seems to have stock. $1139, so still high pricing. From the thread at OCAU it looks like we'll see more variants released at the end of the month. I'm guessing we won't see decent stock levels for another month though :(

The scorptec guy on ocau said the initial cards are usually more expensive due to being sent air freight. Once they start coming in by container ship the prices should drop.

Performance wise they are pretty similar Shaun, but I'd still take the 1070 just for the 100w lower TDP.

Wonder how much lower they will go. I'm willing to bet they are under $500 in a few months time, once the ATI cards are also about.

I hope $500 will be a possibility, but there is talk of the AUD tanking in the future which will make that hard if the prediction comes true.

Both Nvidia and AMD have a pretty good thing going on with pricing these days, unless they start a price war I wouldn't expect these cards to go that low.

Are the 1080s in stock anywhere?

The guys I have been doing all the rendering for want to do it themselves now. (fuckers, easiest money I ever made)

They cant find stock anywhere apparently. I thought I would ask you lot.

Saw a bloke walk out of Hurstville MSY today with one of those ( Gigabyte card) if I wasn't half his size and a decent human being I would have done a snatch and grab :)
