Re: DiRT Rally
Was quite a close run right until the last stage. Biggest stuff up I made was jumping the first start, just got a bit nervy and wasn't paying attention.

Re: DiRT Rally
Great rally lads... and pleased to see Ysu in the mix too!
Well, practice is cheating, so went straight in putting my trust in the Mini... well stage one and two saw me on top of the short/early list of runners.
Took a break in case I faded trying to do it all in one go... although I was tempted with my first 2 stages performance.
Back last night and realised it was now or never... should have pre-honed my skills, but found desperation paid off havig slipped to 6th and needed to pull 'one out of the bag" for the last stage.... yeahhhhh man 4th!
Loved it. See you next round, and thanks.

I never bother to practice either Flattop, mostly because I'm lazy.

Re: DiRT Rally
Is there any other way to play this one. Prac just takes the fun out of the chaos.

G27 and Fanatec CSP here. It's always been able to use separate controllers. I've been playing this since beta and haven't used stock pedals for probably a decade.

Re: DiRT Rally
the short answer, start Dirt Rally and navigate to the Leagues window, if there is an active event, that you haven't finished, it will be available for selection.ysu wrote:So when does the next round start, or rather: how do we know when it starts?
The long answer is got to the current league page at Codemaster/Dirt Rally/League page, it will show the current/next event.

Re: DiRT Rally
Racenet was up and running last night, but I do have trouble loosing connection to racenet during a game... often have to exit with the option to store the results locally... started a couple of upgrades ago of Steam.
Don't have any trouble with my other Steam account games. ???

Re: DiRT Rally
Just finished Germany. Im getting pretty handy at hairpins now! I did have 3 or 4 'back-her-ups' early on when facing rocks after leaving the hb on too long but they were my only screwups. Im interested to see how my time compares. Its a fairly easy event as far as little opportunity to roll and reset.

Re: DiRT Rally
I did much better this time. Only hit 2 fuckers who stood too close to the road. I really don't get why it's my fault...

Re: DiRT Rally
I made the stupid decision of changing to a new PC and leaving my FFB settings on the old one.
Once I got that sorted out two stages in I had a fair few "back her ups" as En-J says and finished my rally with a "back her up" into a spectator stand and a 15 second penalty!
Still, all sorted out now and hopefully I give the faster guys a run for their money at Monte Carlo.

Re: DiRT Rally
Was it one off you blokes that gifted me Dirt rally?
Got an email forwarded from one of those 10 minute email addresses. Actually opened it up on a virtual machine as I expected it to be malicious. Kinguin.net seems to be like CD keys. Put the the activation code in and is downloading. All 26gig!
So who ever it was, thanks.

Re: DiRT Rally
Refuses to run on triples unless in a window. Tops.
And still it is run by that stupid fucking interface. What fucktard designed this?
Mashing buttons on the wheel to move around even though the mouse pointer is there and does fuck all.
Fucking console c**t* have a lot to answer for.

I think there is an option you need to enable to use the mouse in the menus.norbs wrote: Mashing buttons on the wheel to move around even though the mouse pointer is there and does fuck all.

This one that is off every time I enter the game.r8response wrote:I think there is an option you need to enable to use the mouse in the menus.norbs wrote: Mashing buttons on the wheel to move around even though the mouse pointer is there and does fuck all.
same as playing it full screen. Cant select it and keep the setting. Only game i cant play full screen. Typical Codemasters bugfest.
The controls are even worse. I adjust them. play the game. get out and next time i go in they are back to default.
