Pissing off for a bit.

Post by Bails MacKenzie »

I figured I'd take the time to mention that I'm going away for work instead of just pissing off and coming back to find you guys partying cos you think I'm gone for good.

Having been made redundant from my last two jobs (even worse considering I was self-employed in my first job) I decided to go where the money is, So I've got a decent paying job with a 2.5 hour drive from my house, which means I'm moving north for the summer and I won't be able to take part in any ARSE rat-baggery as a result.

All hail the dictator.

Up around Warracknabeal, possibly the largest of the little wheat towns in the Wimmera, I'll be in the caravan park if anyone is stupid enough to stop by for a cuppa.

Well I've been here for five days so far, hopefully going to start work soon as I do happen to have a canvas tent and I'm cooking like a chook in an oven most of the time, found a library to sit in with a wifi signal so I could send this too, it's a pretty sparse sort of existance up here!

I've always complained about my 2006 VE series 1 for being a shit car, but truly it was designed for this sort of Australia, I've gotten air on some of the larger humps in the road around 130-140km/h but aside from the jumps it's all arrow-straight roads around here and everyone drives a V8.

There's a major classic car scene too, lot of daily-driver muscle cars and I even saw a Lotus Europa of all things when I went to Jeparit this morning. Haven't found Hutchy's relatives yet, though I go out door-knocking every night and ask everyone I see if they know Hutchy. ;)

So that's pretty much it for the moment, I'm keeping an eye out for a nice farmers daughter or something like that to make the stay even more enjoyable, but that being said, my family came from up around this way and in a town of 2,000 people I just hope I don't end up with a girlfriend that I share a family tree with!

Continue Hailing the Dictator and good luck with FnF, I know you blokes will be missing the bevvy of crashes that I bring to each event!

That'll narrow it down by a fair margin, some of the Quick's drive trucks up here too.

So I've been working up here for a week now and only due to a massive fucker of a storm have I found myself with enough time to stop by the library to use their wi-fi.
My boss is basically Norbs in every way, shape, form and anger issues, which has made getting used to this job pretty easy.

Work has been full-on for the last week and after this storm passes we'll start harvesting wheat and then our little team is going to be pushed to it's limits, I'm the only fellow from Ballarat there, obviously, but there are very few locals working there either, it seems all the locals are working harvesters and trucks.

There isn't much to do in the area when we're not working, which has been two half-days so far and you really begin to miss constant internet and pornography, especially when there's few single women around either, one girl works unloading trucks with us and the poor thing spends most of her time being watched by us, we don't mean to stare but she's the only woman that most of us see.

Also, I went and saw the town where they filmed "The Flying Doctors" it's an experience that just can't be rivaled and probably the only thing that I'd reccommend doing day after day after day.

Aside from the boredom and lack of sex it's a really good place to work for and the conversation at every smoko break makes the ARSE teamspeak look like a church service.

Yeah, that's the latest in thing.
The mob I work for, Graincorp, has been getting artists to paint the disused silos in the area, we've had all the big bosses come out to talk about them, one boss turned up today in time to see a 40km/h wind pick up 45 foot of Canola tarps and dump them on the main road, so after we cleaned that up we all got the day off.

There's about three or four painted silos within an hour's drive of me and if you're ever in the area it's actually something worth checking out.

Aside from that, not much else happening here aside from work, spotted a Valiant Pacer and an E-Type Jag as regular cars in the town, there's a big Corvette getting around too, seems like there's a lot of money and a lot of fast cars here.

It's a big thing now. Here in Benalla we have this on a building. The Asian girl is top 10 street art in the world and the photo doesn't do it justice. It's amazing!

Just wrapped up another day of work, payday too, makes a nice change to earn in a fornight what I made in six weeks at my old job. With my current pay minus tax I reckon I could buy every FnF'er a copy of Automoblista each!

Also, the local paper just announced that the next silo is going to be painted soon, at Patchewollock if I remember correctly.

And finally, we have a raft of Eastern Europeans working with us now, the talk of the break room at the moment is a Blonde haired, blue eyed German woman who is an absolute stunner, unfortunatley I went to the Todd Norbury school of international relations and thus, interactions with the young lady are a bit stifiled because I keep mentioning the war.

Well, it seems that my stay in Warracknabeal is just about over with, ever single Australian who doesn't live in the district (about 15 of us) all just got laid off after having a week of not much work at all, since I got back from Christmas, where I headed home from the 24th to the 26th I'd have done around 4 days work.

But still, it was a record harvest and out of my 37 days (so far) in Warracknabeal I spent 27 of them working and made around $4500 which is bloody good money for the work I was doing, which was operating expensive machinery and watching the German women work (I don't know why but the hottest one always wore skin-tight clothing every day, not that I'm complaning).

So I'll be back home by the end of this week, I've been to just about every tourist spot here, A highlight of mine is doing 170 on the back road to Patchewollock (A road I shall refer to as "The road from hell" for various reasons) and a few days of ratbaggery as I got properly pissed for the first time in two years.

So yeah, see you blokes sometime soon.
Signing out from Warracknabeal,
Bails.
