Re: guess the ex F1 driver
I should've known who this was especially after looking it up but he was a touch before my time...

Re: guess the ex F1 driver
A Ligier driver and I'm already spitting out names in my head like Laffite, Depailler, Pironi, Arnoux...
I can still remember that extraordinary race at Monaco in 1996 when 3 cars finished and Panis steered a Ligier home. It was like the last all French win there since Jesus was playing full back for Jerusalem.

Re: guess the ex F1 driver
I would not consider his stint at Ligier as his most well known team association

Looks a bit like Carlos Reuteman or however you spell his name, but I don't think it is.

I was thinking it was Andrea de Cesaris, but it's not. I recognize him, pretty sure he's French, but the sour puss face gave that away lol
Dammit he's not French, even got that wrong lol

Without Muppet's help, I'd never have gotten this but I won't say to give someone else a go.

It's thrown me completely. His face is familiar and I know I'll kick myself when I find out but I just can't think of who it is.

Re: guess the ex F1 driver
I'm refusing to Google it because that's cheating. But I'm really hoping someone will get it so I can figure out who it is.

Re: guess the ex F1 driver
I'm couldn't resist Googling it hence my reluctance to answer. I'm also conscious to not say anything as it's Jiminee's to decide how this goes.
Well done Jiminee I think think this one has taken the longest so far.

Re: guess the ex F1 driver
i cheated and googled, now i can rest easy. You're on the right track Macca. Also i don't want to be a stickler, but the original intention for this thread was for what drivers look like now(ex driver), not when they were most recognisable. I thought it'd make it harder but Jiminee fucked that theory up completely

Correct! I always remember him from when I was a kid as the poor bastard who got stuck driving those awful Osella's every year.w00dsy wrote:please be Pedro Lamy

How come he was in Ligier gear? He never drove for them, officially at least.
Ok here's an old bastard.
