FNF league racing poll. (formats)
Just after some feedback for the league racing starting this Friday night.
I think fortnightly is settled.
Is everyone happy to run these formats?
Format 1 : Qual. 10 mins. Race 1. 15mins + 1lap. Race 2. rev grid, 15mins +1 lap.
Format 2 : Qual. 10 mins. Race 1. 10mins + 1lap. Race 2. rev grid, 20mins +1 lap.
Format 3 : Qual. Top 10 shootout style (1 flying lap). Race 1. 35mins + 1lap. Mandatory 1 pit stop (set up wont have enough full for full race).
These will just roll over through the year, changing every fortnight. So this week will be format 1.
Any major issues there?
Edit : Anyone around at 8PM CBST tonight to help do some testing. I just want to make sure Stracker is working ok for timed races. You will need this track for trsting and Friday.

So they're going to be fixed setup races? I love me a bit of reverse grid action too.

Yup, as long as I can work it out.Santaria wrote:So they're going to be fixed setup races? I love me a bit of reverse grid action too.
The idea is for people to just race, not spend too much time on setups.

Re: FNF league racing poll.
The reverse grid we did last Friday was good fun. It makes for interesting racing especially if someone makes a good break and the quicker guys find it hard to get past us midfielders. I find it kind of fun to be hunted down by someone faster and you don't know if you can hold on. Yeah it's pressure but it can also help you to lift a little.
The biggest issue will be sand bagging in quali. You got to try your hardest and I think we know each other enough to know what lap times we can pump out.

I love the reverse grid too, great way to get the fast guys having to do some passing.
Not a massive fan of the fixed setup. I can see that you want to tick a box with the 'make it easy' option, but from my previous experience with fixed setups leagues, it can be annoying that you can't just tweak a setting to your liking.
For example, the rear anti roll bar... I like a tight rear... most peeps like it loser than myself and are happy to modulate the throttle going out of a corner. I like it nice n firm so I can just plant it exiting...
And if you don't want people to gain an advantage by practicing and setting up a car to a track, then just don't tell them what the car or the track is till the Thursday, like you've been doing.
That's my two and a half threepence worth!!

Fair point Stan, and I think we can accommodate couple of things. Box knows more about this.
Also, forgot to add, the enduro rounds will be Top 10 shoot out style qualifying.

For the GT4's I don't think the set-up is worth squat, but depends on the car. I think most of us end up with either the default or a downloaded one anyway.
I'm happy with 15/15 races with one 35 min race a season.

All sounds like fun, lets get on with it. I'm not thinking setup will make a big diff with it on or off, so let Stan get his tight rear going lol
C'mon Stan, admit you wrote that to get a reaction lol

Seems you can buy a tight rear end via cosmetic surgery

Re: FNF league racing poll.
Well thanks for all those that turned up to help test! Fuckers!!!!!
Had a ripper chat to Stan about life and other things. So it turned out to be a good night after all. And I know heaps more about Stan.
With the vote at 60% to 40% for the 2 cars, I reckon I will leave it like that for now.
As mentioned, I will talk with Box about having some tweakage allowed for the cars.
This week will be...
Format 1 : Qual. 10 mins. Race 1. 15mins + 1lap. Race 2. rev grid, 15mins +1 lap. At NJMP that is listed above.
Once racing is over, it will be back to FNF shenanigans. Longfordbolicas at Longfordmegabolicas!

Well there is no official sign up, just who ever shows up on the night.
There will be 12 of each car, so should be enough to go around.
