Gday all. Have some time off work and considering making the trek down to winton for the v8s round. Has anybody been before?. Hows the spectating there?.

Also would staying in albury be too far away? Nothing available any closer to the track.

Living 10 kilometers from the track I might be able to help

It's about 100 k's drive south of Albury but it's all freeway. A lot of people do travel down from there as it's on an hour away. The viewing is pretty good. You can see most of the track. Some spots are better than others. It's almost flat a part from the hill at the old start/finish line. I took a pic there at the historic event last year so it might give you some idea. It can get very muddy fast if it's wet though.

Take a chair with you too. There's no seating unless you have a ticket for a stand, even then there are not many stands to sit in.

It's gonna be wet. Looking at maybe 20 to 50 mm of rain on Friday night/Saturday morning.
