The Expanse
New on syfy. I'm interested because it's based on the novels of the same name which have been running for about 5 or 6 years now. So far it's pretty good but I'm enjoying seeing the novel some to life. The authors seem to have quite a bit to do with the show too. First series is based on the first book but given current progress I'd imagine they won't get through more than half of it in this series.

Re: The Expanse
Read the first 4 books early last year, then heard it was going to be made into a TV Series. Then heard Syfy was making it, so I didn't have too many hopes for it. Thankfully, they've stayed rather true to the books.
Completley agree. Unless they try and jam a whole lot into the last 3 episodes, then we'll have to wait until Season 2 in 2017Exar Kun wrote:N First series is based on the first book but given current progress I'd imagine they won't get through more than half of it in this series.

I like how they've brought in Avasarala early. You can also see that the back stories of the main characters (besides Holden) that were only fleshed out in book 5 have been intimated in the series already. The first book (Leviathan Wakes) always lent itself to being adapted to a Hollywood blockbuster I felt so with a series it's quite a bit slower paced but still good. Amazing what special effects can do these days - it's obviously a pretty low budget show but for the most part it looks quite good. I just hope it's popular enough to go beyond the first book.

Re: The Expanse
Looks like Episodes 9 and 10 came out on the same day
It's going to be a long wait until season 2 next year (sort of like Game of Thrones )

Seems I finally got around to watching this at just the right time. Really enjoyed it but the last episode left a lot open. Luckily season 2 starts next week

I hadn't seen any notice about S2 and it's start date.
Edit: Supposedly it returns on Wednesday

Re: The Expanse
I got into this late last year and really enjoyed it. Just got finished with Season 2 last month so this is good timing!
