[PC2] FNF 1 hour Historic Racing Spa 20/4/2018

Post by Dr. Pain »

This Friday night is a 1 hour event at historic Spa in a Lotus 25.

7:30 pm 1 hour practice
8:30 pm 30 min qualifying
9:00 pm 1 hour race

This will be the start of 4 events over the next few months. All will be hour long races at historic tracks in Lotus 25's. There will be weather. No forced pit stops, I leave that up to you. They didn't pit in the day and they drove through whatever conditions were thrown at them so MAN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mrt:

Points will be historic too so 9–6–4–3–2–1

*edit* I will do a test off line to see how much fuel they can carry, I am hoping they will hold an hours worth. If anyone has a gear ratio please share but I will play with this during the week too.

Yeah just rock up and you're in. It will be informal so no bookings and such. Only the top 6 gets points so that's the only thing I need to record.

Think of this as Dr. Pain's half arsed racing series :D

Any ruling on radiator opening? It's about 9 seconds faster around here to run 0%. Would suck for some to run default setups that have 100%.

Did a 3:58 with these changes to the loose setup:

Tyre pressures 1.35 bar (1 second faster than default)

Ride heights 80mm front. 90mm rear (need to make sure it's ok with race fuel)
Spring rate 35 front, 44 rear

Gearing
5.850
2.500
1.750
1.333
1.081
0.925

Used ~5.2 litres per lap. 15-16 laps for the race. 85 litres should cover it safely and the car can take 130 so no problems there.

Cool thanks Darren

There is no damage so radiators can be closed off. My thinking is damage on the first few turns could ruin someones race and I want people to have fun and draft ect... If it goes well then in time we might re run events with damage and shorter races but we'll do this lot first and see how we go.

I might have driven differently if I knew my virtual mortality was actually at stake.

Don't stress Cursed. The real points are recorded. The deaths make for good reading.

I think my off would have at least caused serious maiming at Malmedy Doc, so there goes my points. Also, Darren's immortality was questioned in qualifying, hence he would never have actually started the race, meaning the end result was points for none, death to all infidels.
