Banned from Gumtree just hours after joining - WTF

Hey everyone.

The other day I registered an account on Gumtree to try and sell some camera gear I don't want anymore. I registered with my email address, activated it and posted one ad for a lens.

This was in the evening and I didn't check it until the following morning. But I found I wasn't able to log in to my account.

All I got was a message, "Sorry, there appears to be an issue with your account, please contact customer support". So I contacted customer support and 16 hours later I got the reply:

What a useless email, they can't/won't even tell you what the issue was.

"We're really really sorry to say this and for any inconvenience it may cause but fuck you and go and get fucked!!"

My guess is someone from the same IP block or something like that has been caught out being fraudulent while selling camera lenses and so you got flagged by some automated system and they won't actually expend any human effort to look into these things in more depth, so tough titties and bye bye
