Re: Any news/updates?
Loaded up LFS last week and was pleasantly surprised.
Blackwood and especially Westhill have crazy big off-track open areas now. Two go-karting tracks have been added. Rockingham only available through S3 licence, so S3 officially released at some stage. They've been at it for some 15 years now.
Still some gaping holes, like the RB4 interior only has low resolution textures/polys.

Re: Any news/updates?
So it will be released just in time for the real track to become a housing estate or car storage , perhaps they can model that too. Should fit in nicely with the 2008 Scirocco when it's released in 2028

Re: Any news/updates?
It seems Eric is still involved doing these graphics updates. I imagine they still receive a steady trickle of money coming in, if you're totally new to sim racing it would still be something good to start with.
I decided to have a look at the forums and see how active it still is and got a bit of a laugh to see my name and a few other SCR guys mentioned in a bit of a nostalgia thread

Re: Any news/updates?
One interesting thing i do is every now and then I fire it up to gasp at the frame rate I get with my new 1060ti.
Remembering how I used to struggle to get to 50 fps online, it gives me the horn to bask in what I get now.

Re: Any news/updates?
When they added VR support Scawen talked about updating the driver and interior models. Seeing them life size in 3D really showed up how low poly they are.

It's a shame LFS is non-existent in Aus (outside of possible cruise servers).

Yep that's what I was thinking too, need to wait for the graphical improvements.
So we probably have till 2025 to organise ourselves.

They should make sham wow stubbie holders so if ya spill ya beer you can soak it straight up and put it back in the stubbie

Re: Any news/updates?
We have been working on graphics for some time now. A new lighting system allows more varied and realistic surface properties and we have a new shadow system. All tracks must be updated to take advantage of the new features.
This month we have taken some screenshots at the Autocross track, featuring the large car park, skid pad and drag strip. In the open configuration you can now drive between all areas using connecting roads and there is an extended car park beside the original Autocross area.

Was fun to give it a crack, for a bit, open world exploring so many track possibilities for fun times.
Edit... and it is 4am.
