I bought the VR cover and then sold it, the main plastic piece caused issues with the proximity sensor, which is something that might have been easily solved because I haven't seen anyone else with that issue but I didn't find the whole thing any better than the standard rift foam thing. Every now and then I pull it off and give it a bit of a wash in some mild soap.

I regularly use my rift in the iRacing enduro races which usually means 2+ hours at a time for multiples stints, I've also done some league races which have been 2.5-3 hours. The rift does tend to heat soak after an hours or so, I'm in the tropics so I have the aircon on and the ceiling fan on as well when I race.
