I managed to get COD1 working on my PC (win10) with a noCD exe.

It's epic!!!
I forgot just how epic it was. You get dropped in right from the word go with 15 minutes of relentless gunfire, hand grenades, mortars, MG42s and Panzers. Sooooo much better than the more recent modern warfare versions.

That's my weekend sorted

And then I've got an expansion pack and COD2 ready to go next.....

Was that also the one where you changed sides during the game and played different theatres?

Stalingrad was full on.

So far I've battled through various houses and fields and blown up some guns. No D-Day landing yet. I have a vague recollection that might have been in COD2.

Stalingrad was much later. COD 5 or 6 I think and yes, if you got 50 yards without dying you saved the game!!

COD 1 has Stalingrad as well. The start of the mission is pretty brutal.

I would be real keen to have a go at Rainbow 6 again. Fuck I wasted some time on that game in MP.

Bit of googling was all it took Norbs.

'call of duty on windows 10' - that kind of thing.
Turned out it was mainly an issue with DRM from back in the day not being compatible with win10 so a noCD exe was all I needed.

On a related note I also got Half Life Blue Shift and Team Fortress working as well. They just needed my desktop screen res dropping to 1280x960 (the max the game would do) and they ran fine as well...... and were equally epic!! I do love a bit of retro gaming
