I wonder how much quicker that pit entry is now, and if it'd be enough to make them consider an extra stop.

Bernie owns it. Signed a nice contract not long before selling out to Liberty Media.

Lol, I didn't know & it's actually...

"Bernie Ecclestone's ex-wife Slavica, the proud owner of the Circuit Paul Ricard, and the 60-year-old former Croatian model has declared herself happy with her property's development."
"Slavica Ecclestone inherited the Paul Ricard track as a result of her divorce settlement with the former F1 supremo."

My points still stand...

Thinking about it, what track serves up good racing, year in, year out? The cars seem to be the issue.

Your pretty much right mate, but this one has no legitimate passing spots (if they removed DRS). Even many of the other shit tracks still have or would have at least one legitimate passing zone.

Penalty incoming for our Dan... Assuming the FIA are consistent with their recent decision. :(
Feel for Norris as he drove magnificently too.

He might get away with the lando one, if he can prove lando didn't give him much space going into the corner.

Kimi one... He's done

I really don't know why I do it to myself anymore.
Now they have pushed the starts to 11:10pm, I spend Monday feeling like a zombie and basically none of the races this year has been a total snooze fest.

F1 needs to fix this, ive watched basically every race since 1994. I am totally cooked with it. I think come next week im giving up.
They need to stop the 1 stop strategy races, the complete dominance of Mercs, the bullshit penalties, the lack of overtaking unless using DRS.

I lasted 3 laps and fell asleep.

Woke up to see the top 3 were the same as I fell asleep to and when I checked the interwebz this morning I see Danny has a double penalty. Good job...

Yeah I pulled the plug midway through last year for the same exact reasons, think I have only watched Melbourne this year, and even most races now I don't bother watching the highlights either as they are dull as well. I jump on here or Reddit and get a quick update and that's about me these days, its just lost all its attraction for me in the current format, like you, I have been an avid follower since the early 90's and even up till 2-3 years ago I never missed a race, and would torture myself staying up late to watch them all.

It is a pity, because qualifying has really improved with the 3 sessions thing. Apart from the last session being long, I think it works really well.

The racing, well it is a pile of poo right now.

Agree qualifying is nearly spot on, good to watch throughout the hour, only improvement I think would be like you suggest, make it shorter so they get one run only, might spice it a bit more from time to time when someones screws there one shot.

I’m the same. Watched since around late 80’s and would also be happy to live with the lack of sleep to watch every race. It was just what I did, and actually kinda hard to accept that I just don’t care enough anymore with the current state of F1. I gave up near the end of last season. I’ve seen about 3 races this year. The only reason I watched this one was that I’m in the UK right now and it was on at 2pm. If Dan wasn’t there racing I doubt I’d even check results.

Yeah sorry to hear that Kev.

I haven't watched F1 for some time now, I probably haven't watched it regularly since Weber was racing but I was never really a big or long term fan.

I watched nearly all the Indycar races last year because they were posted on youtube a week after the race and I think it's a much better series all round and much more interesting to watch. It's just a shame this year the broadcast rights changed so they only upload 30min highlights, which I guess is still better than 5 min F1 highlights.
