My website host has gone out of business - ideas?

Post by smithcorp »

Hi all - got a message that hostinginsiders went bus and will be shutting down my account from April 30. I need to get a new host. Suggestions welcomed.

Just hosting - I've never bothered with domain emails. Want ftp too - and ideally should be very simple for a tech-challenged old bloke to navigate/use.

FTP? Is this 1995? You should be using secure protocols by now. I hope you mean sftp, and if you don't, I hope you look for that instead of ftp. Client software for sftp is pretty easy to find.

If you are just sharing documents and that yourself, stick with google drive in my opinion. For a simple website, I would use Amazon Web Services S3 storage (what Pixel was offering)
