Re: Your favourite car and track combos in a sim?
My all time favourite was the Lotus 49 at Nordschleife in GPL....haven't played for a number of years.
Recently Formula Rookies in PC and PC2.....(edit) Doh!! at Mojave.
Currently I'm enjoying the Porsche GT3 Cup car at Sebring Club Circuit in iRacing. I don't race online, just against the AI but the car gets wicked loose and I love being on the edge of control under brakes and just releasing them to let the car glide across the apexes.

LMP's at Adelaide GP. Technically not the best but always brings back great nostalgia for me

GPL - Ferrari at Monza. Something about that car screaming at that track always got me.

I never quite "got" LFS so I'm surprised that the first thing that came to mind reading the thread title was making autocross courses and hooning that little go-kart thing around them.
Had a lot of fun in Brabham's at Snetterton in GPL too, and Monza in the Lotus was always great in multiplayer.

Any thoroughbred race car on Nords...
Modern cars like a GT3 make it a lot easier to enjoy that epic track but for me driving a Porsche Cup Car on it is so satisfying when you get it right.

RF1 - Historix mod at Sebring - 2.5 hours of fun driving no matter what car you take.
RF2 - 1954 Cobra mod at LeGrand 67 - Amazing mod, great track, roaring through the night in a V8 getting hunted down in the corners by a straight 8 and an inline 4 before a D-Type look-alike carved us all up is a great evening sim-racing!
GPL - BT19 at Spa.
AC - M235i at anywhere.
PC - Crashing to desktop.
PC2 - Group 5's at Watkins Glen Short.
ATS - Kenworth W900 in Nevada

Re: RE: Re: Your favourite car and track combos in a sim?
I got the first AC but my wheel/pedal combo isn't great (MSFF circa 2001) and I haven't really done sim racing for years so can't justify a fancy new one really. I thought AC was.... ok. Didn't blow me away really. Certainly didn't grab me like GPL did.w00dsy wrote:Did you ever try the Assetto Corsa versions?Big Kev wrote:GPL - Ferrari at Monza. Race07 - Radical SR4 at Nordschleife
I know there are better sims and better cars, but the sound and feeling of the SR4 in that game, coupled with that track just makes for an entertaining racing experience for me.

I'm an inspiration to many. Actually I got the idea from Mike at simracing604.

Had a session with a couple of mates in the V8 at Bathurst in iRacing on Saturday night - was one of my best sim racing combos ever.

Ran the Skip Barber tonight in iRacing. Holy shit, I almost forgot how fun that car is on the limit!
Have not driven it in 6 years and was back on the pace relatively quickly around Brands Hatch.
