Re: Abarth 124 Spider
Well that went well. The black one I ordered is apparently damaged and shouldn't have been in the system as an available car.
Now looking at a white one. Higher spec but cheaper as it's a demo

Re: Abarth 124 Spider
I hate it when they do that. Convince you to buy because the one you want is in stock ready to deliver, then when you've signed on the dotted line all of a sudden the car you bought isn't actually available.
Same thing happened to us when we last bought a car, they asked us what colour we wanted, then checked their system and said, well look at that, we just happen to have one of those that'll be ready to collect next week. We agree to buy it, get all excited, and then "Wait, I'm sorry, my mistake, we don't actually have one ready, it'll be a three month wait".
They know quite well if they tell you up front you're waiting 3+ months you would just go somewhere else, so they lie to get you to sign on the dotted line.
Having got that off my chest, hope you get your car soon, and it's everything you wanted Stu

Agree with that. Though I didn't want an MX5 I didn't tell them that. Maybe they did do whatever they could to stop me going down the road. Who knows.
I will get what I want. I'm sure if it. Almost there now.

Re: Abarth 124 Spider
Took delivery of my Abarth on Thursday night and despite poor weather in Tassie over the weekend I have put a few kms on it. Really enjoying it.
Thought I would share some pics of it. It is a 2016 Launch Edition (thats means the red bits really) and the compliance plate (a Mazda plate no less) lists NF in the sequence.

Not surprised about the Mazda link, it looks very Miata'ish

Also noticed from a scroll how much I added to this section of the forum over a short period of time.

Re: Abarth 124 Spider
The abarth was a ripper car but time was up
I got the idea in my head I needed a 4 door car to help out more with my elderly parents and not put others out by needing their car. Once that decision was made, I was keen for the Abarth to go.
However, now the time has come, I’m really keen on a Scirocco which doesn’t overcome the issue.
I did drive an I30N yesterday though. What a ripper car. More than I want to spend and the back seat legroom say I might as well just get a Scirocco anyway. Was a quick car though. No wonder Mick still likes his.
Also eyed off a Megane. Once again,of the 3 I saw it was the 2 door RB8 model I liked the most. I think they are a cup 265 with red bull stickers on them. I don’t know much about them though but gee it had a nice feel to sit in.
Will no doubt keep this part of the forum active once I settle on something.

Yes I remember you having one. We only get one option here, the R which makes the choice easy and good.

Do you run the Scirocco forum? Or different Kev? Surely there is only one and I also wonder what makes you not big there?Big Kev wrote:Thee Scirocco is a great car, I had the 2.0GT for 7 years.

Re: Abarth 124 Spider
Yep, Scirocco Central.
Were a couple of others early on in its life but they fell by the wayside. Site traffic is a bit down now since they stopped making it but it's a big archive of everything you've ever needed to know about.

Re: Abarth 124 Spider
Maybe you'll see a surge in membership when the LFS Scirocco is released.
