Could be a bunch of things Pix. See a doctor.

My torn meniscus seems to do that every now and then. I have no idea how or why.

If it isnt hurting on the bike, 42kms would suggest it isn't, it might be from twisting it when climbing stairs. I find both my knees give me hell if I walk for too long on the beach, much to the brides disgust. Cycling (when I used to do it a bit) proves to be pain free.

That's my right ankle everytime I walk up steps. Destroyed it 15 or so years ago. It wouldn't have been so bad if I'd actually done the rehab.

Physiotherapist would be worth a shot as well. I had knee issues a while ago from cycling. Problem was the tendon which holds the knee cap in place was popping in and out of its groove (patellar subluxation) causing inflammation. Went to the GP which led to getting MRI's and all sorts of shit. Went to a physiotherapist and they fixed it almost immediately with some basic exercises to strengthen the muscle that controls the tendon and it only cost me $40.

Yeah, no pain, just a pop as I straighten the right knee going up stairs. Yeah I'll ask the doctor next time.

I've dislocated my knee twice and the physio said the best thing I can do is improve strength of the thigh and arse muscles so they take the load away from the joint itself.

Mind you, if it's just a click and not painful then it's just the air escaping the cartilage isn't it?

If it’s when it straightens the muscle that attaches to the patella (knee cap) could be weak.

I feel it catch sometimes playing sport or walking I feel like it gives way a bit.

When I play/train now I use a Velcro band underneath the knee cap and it assists in it retracting when the leg straightens. Some people use tape but that gets tiresome if doing it a few times per week.

Did mine Skiing a couple of years ago - every so often I'll twist the knee in the right direction and it'll go pop

I went to a Physio after the accident and they suggested getting an MRI but I couldn't be arsed at the time. Probably should have.

I reckon I lose when it comes to knee issues. This is just the one knee, the other has just as many issues. That's what 31 years of working on your knees does.

That fits with my experience, norbs. I know that when I start to suffer back pain (courtesy of that New Caledonian rally) I need to exercise and build up core strength to get the muscles to support the spine.

I was just listening to Mix 102.3 on the way into work and they had a segment on Manopause.
I dont know if the show I was listening to in SA was taking calls from interstate but fuck me, the details were lining up!

A Madi called up (16yo?) saying her dad was always grumpy, had dodgey knees, mum has to use heat packs on his knee (or hip) before bed, the list went on. They asked what dad did for a living, construction. Then asked how old dad was, 48.

Then asked his name, Jason.

I burst into laughter and instantly thought, is this Woodsy!!!

I had a feeling she was older than 16, plus the occupation of construction.
I was thinking there cant be too many Jason's with a daughter named Madi tho.
