Downtime
Hi
Sorry about the downtime for the last day and a bit.
The hosts updated the server php version (a lot) and everything broke
It's taken a couple of hours but I've got most of it fixed now.
I'll redo the style and logo over the weekend. While I'm fiddling, does anything else need 'fixing'? I think W00dsy told me about the favicon a long time ago so I'll see if I can sort that out. I can look at https if you like?

Re: Downtime
Thanks Kev.
I got onto Bluehost about 20 minutes ago, without checking t was back up.
Honestly Kev, given how little use the forum gets these days, I wouldnt worry too much about tarting it up. If it works, good enough.

Thanks Kev. It looks great.
I suspect that SSL will be compulsory at some point in the future. I'm happy to help out with getting Let's encrypt set up. (https://letsencrypt.org/getting-started/).

Thanks Kev as always!
Keen on https too, easy to use a lets-encrypt cert but its a bit of manual overhead unless you can script it, otherwise im sure a few of us will chip in to buy a cert to save you some time

Re: Downtime
I don't think https should cost anything. I'll look in to it though.
But it's our home Shouldn't take too long to get it looking right again. I actually keep the back end pretty simple anyway.

Re: Downtime
Agreed, although I'm sure others like me a still watching...
If themes are easy to install, and you do want to change the basic look (not that it's needed), just grab one from the online styles database and run with it
e.g. https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styl ... e/demo/3.2
OR https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/1982/demo/3.2

Re: Downtime
Hey Kev is it possible to run the dark version of Prosilver as well? I quite like this, and a lot of people seem to like dark themes on phones now too. https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styl ... k/demo/3.2

Re: Downtime
This new version is responsive so you shouldn't need tapatalk but I can install it if you like.
That's for 3.2.x, we're now on 3.3.3 but I'll have a look for a dark version (I'm very much in to the dark camp these days too).w00dsy wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 8:05 pm Hey Kev is it possible to run the dark version of Prosilver as well? Re: Downtime
There's now a dark style.
If you go to the user control panel top right > board prefs, you can select the dark style.
I've got some colour options if that text blue is too dark.

Re: Downtime
Is anyone else having issues where you get logged out if "opening a new tab" using Chrome?
I thought it might be my work VPN but it has happened on my personal PC's too.

I don't use chrome but have you tried deleting your site cookie so it makes a new one? Nothing has changed on the cookie side of things.
