Nah, he'll only hold that until the Libs pick one of their own. Nats get the 2IC position as part of their coallition agreement, there's no way the Libs are going to let the bumpkins control the room.

Granted I only see odd glimpses but it still saddens me a bit to see Australia transforming into the US style of politics.
The language and messaging often seem to be lifted directly from the playbook of US right-wing. This kind of bollocks:
Which in the Murdoch-ideology generally translates as:
"believes in family" = don't like gay people
"believes in traditional values" = don't like brown people (especially immigrants)
"believes in small government" = don't like regulating my friend's businesses
I know Australia probably has a lot more in common with the US than the UK but still.

“The really interesting thing about Dominic Perrottet is he’s a conservative, and he’s a proud conservative,” Patrick told Sky News.“This is a man who believes in family, believes in traditional values, and believes in small government.”
He is also a devout traditional Catholic and has spoken openly about how his religious beliefs have fundamentally influenced his political work.
“I think having a Christian faith is part of who I am and inspires me to make a difference wherever I go,” he said in 2020.

Re: Which muppet you voting for?
The gaslighting playbook concerns me more. Nowhere near Trump levels but he probably showed them what's possible.
Lately they've had a go at people in Newcastle for being slow to get vaccinated. After having redirected vaccines from Newcastle to Sydney giving people who book vaccinations wait times in the months. They also tried to lay blame for the Sydney outbreak on the population instead of their non-lockdown response to it.
Murdoch media is a big problem. Accountability is low, propaganda is high.

The responses show how hard it is to get the message through. I reckon we need class actions against the fossil fuel industry like we had against cigarette companies.

Seems to me that they don't have enough drama here so they keep leaning on the Murdoch media to feed them some controversy from the US then they try and shoe-horn it in here.

At the moment they're too busy telling us how they've always been into renewables and electric cars despite running election campaigns against them.

They released documents regarding the car parks and the damn thing is so heavily redacted that it's just a waste of paper! But it was expected
